Yes Moin, thank you for the quick reply. Describing the exact symptoms is a bit difficult... Basically, the system just doesn't work at all. I press the button and nothing happens. There are no error messages. Oh, and my last kilometers were 23432, if that could help. Last service was also recently and nothing was noticed. Any ideas what I could do before I book another appointment at the garage? I don't necessarily want to leave a hunny there if I can avoid it.

Yeah, that can be really annoying, especially if you've just had a service and they haven't noticed anything. But don't worry, there are a few things you can check before you head back to the garage. First, check that there's enough windshield washer fluid in the reservoir, sometimes the problem is that trivial. If that's all okay, then it could be an electrical problem or the fuses could be blown. It could also be a mechanical problem, perhaps the pump is no longer working properly. Do you have a mechanic in your circle of friends who can take a look? I hope that helps and you don't have to lug 100 euros to the workshop. Otherwise, you'll probably have to let the mechanic decide for himself. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's not that bad and that you can solve the problem quickly!

Hello, old man! Thanks for the tips, that's really helpful. I think the fluid might actually be the problem, now that you mention it. I'll check that out first thing tomorrow. I also have a buddy who knows cars and could pull me out of the muck. Thanks again and I hope it works!

Hello everyone, I actually had exactly the same problem with my Passat. I ignored the whole thing until I had to go for the main inspection and then I didn't get a new MOT because the headlamp leveling system is a serious defect. In my case, however, the whole thing was much cheaper, because only the sensor on the front axle was defective. The sensor can measure how far the car is extended or retracted. After replacing the sensor, the fault was gone. MFG

Hi buddy! I can somewhat relate to your situation as I had a similar issue with my 2016 VW Golf (so pretty comparable to your Polo). I'm no car expert, I'd say I have some experience and usually do the standard maintenance that my car needs. In my case, the headlight washer pump was also broken. They fixed it quite quickly at the garage, which cost 115 euros... pretty steep, because the pump alone wouldn't have been that expensive... To be able to help you better, could you please give me some more information about your vehicle? In particular, the exact symptoms and any error messages that have occurred would be helpful. Then I could perhaps give you a few more specific tips.
