Problem with the navigation system in the Renault Clio model year 2012: experience and solutions wanted

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2012 Renault Clio with gasoline engine. My navigation system has stopped working and I suspect it may be a message error between the ECUs. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can give me some troubleshooting tips? I am particularly interested in how your garage has solved this problem and what your experiences have been. Thank you in advance for your help!

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Renault Clio owner is experiencing issues with the navigation system, suspecting a communication error between the ECUs. A similar problem in a 2010 Renault Megane was resolved by repairing the CAN-BUS or MOST bus, costing 235 euros. It is suggested to check if the warranty covers the repair and to discuss the CAN-BUS issue at the next workshop visit.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I once had a similar case with my 2010 Renault Megane. I don't have much experience myself, so I went to my garage. They found that the CAN-BUS or MOST bus was damaged. The repair cost me 235 euros at the time. Maybe that's the case for you too? Which model variant is your Clio exactly and do you have any special navigation system installed? Then I might be able to help you more precisely.

Hi, thanks for the info. My Clio is the Dynamique version and has the standard navigation system fitted. I've only driven 11751 km and everything was fine at the last service. Well, I think I'll talk about the CAN-BUS at the next workshop check. If you've had the same problem, then it's probably the same for me. But 235 euros, uff, that really hurts.

Hey, no problem! Yes, the 235 euros were a shock, but unfortunately you often can't manage without a sat nav, can you? Your model is pretty similar to my Megane, so it could really be the CAN-BUS. If you've driven so few miles, it could even be that the warranty covers it, if you have one. In any case, be sure to bring it up at your next workshop check. Let me know how it turns out, I'm curious!

Hi, yes I will definitely do that. I think my warranty covers it, but I'll have to check my documents again. Yes, you're really lost without a sat nav these days, especially if you're constantly on the road. I'll definitely let you know what comes out of the workshop. Hopefully it won't be that expensive. Thanks again for your advice and your interest! See you then!
