Problems unlocking and locking Citroen DS4 (model year 2015) - looking for experience and tips on how to solve them

Key fob issues

Locking/Unlocking issue

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Citroen DS4 (petrol model year 2015). It's currently acting up with the key and I'm having difficulties locking and unlocking it. I suspect that the problem could be with the access control. Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me troubleshooting tips? I am particularly interested in how this was resolved in the workshop and what experiences you have had. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I have limited car knowledge, but I had a similar problem with my Citroen DS3 (built in 2013). I ended up having to go to the garage. At my garage, they checked the vehicle and found the error "input signal of another control unit faulty". Fixing this problem cost me 1000 euros. What model and year is your car exactly? And how old is your key? With this additional information I might be able to help even more. Hope this helps you for now!

Hi, thanks for your reply! My DS4 is from 2015 and now has 193022 km on the clock. I've had the key since the beginning, so 6 years already. Your experience sounds pretty similar to my situation... Were all the problems resolved after the repair in the workshop or were there any other difficulties?

Hi, I'm glad you were able to learn something from my experience! After the repair in the workshop, all my problems were actually resolved. The access control worked perfectly again and I no longer had any problems locking and unlocking the car. However, I have to say that my key was much younger at the time. If your key is already 6 years old, it could perhaps be the battery. Have you ever tried replacing the battery in the key? Maybe that could help! I hope you can solve your problem soon. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Hi, thanks for the great tip! To be honest, I hadn't even thought that the battery in the key could be the problem. I'll definitely give that a try before I go to the garage. With a bit of luck, it might even solve my problem... I'll definitely keep you posted and let you know if and how the problem is solved. Thanks again for your help!
