Hey, thanks for the reply! It's reassuring to hear that I might not be completely wrong with my assumption. I haven't had a fault memory read out yet, but I think that would be my next step. Regarding the engine designation, I drive the 2 EcoBoost variant. And for info, my mileage is 145074 km and the last service was a few months ago. Hopefully I'll get the problem under control soon. Thanks again for the tip!

No problem, you're welcome! With the 2 EcoBoost, it could actually be the rail pressure sensor. With your mileage, that's quite possible. I wouldn't necessarily say it's 100%, but the symptoms fit together pretty well. Reading out the fault memory is definitely a good idea. This can often reveal several possible sources of error and thus make it easier to find the right problem. There is usually not much of a charge for the readout, especially compared to a complete repair. Another tip might be to use better gasoline at your next fuel stop. I once heard that this can also help with such problems, but I'm not sure if this is the case with your car. In any case, I hope you can solve the problem quickly. Good luck with it and please let us know how it turns out!

Wow, thanks for all the great tips. I will definitely do a fault memory read out next and trying higher quality fuel sounds like a good idea too. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks again for all your help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Ford Focus. I'm not exactly a car expert, but I do have a bit of experience as I often deal with my car. In my case, it was actually the pressure sensor (rail pressure sensor). I took the car into the garage and they confirmed it. It cost me 240 euros to get it sorted. So maybe your assumption is not so far-fetched, it could really be the pressure sensor. Have you already had a fault memory read out? It would be good if we could find out more about your car so that we can help you better. In particular, the exact engine designation would be helpful.
