Hello, thank you very much for your quick reply! I'm reassured to hear that it's not a big deal. I'm not really skilled at this sort of thing, so I'd rather not tinker with it myself and get it done by a professional. It's been a while since you had your problem, hasn't it? Can you remember roughly how much you paid for it? And since the repair, have there been any other problems or has it had any knock-on effect on other parts? Thanks in advance and see you soon!

I also had something like this with my car, 2015 BMW X3. I also thought the brake pedal position sensor was not working. It's been a while, but I can tell you that in my case it was just a user error. I can tell you, I was so pleased. Do you know why? The cost was exactly €0. Yes, you read that right. Nothing, nada, zero. Hope that calms you down a bit. So, don't panic, it's often not as bad as it looks at first. Take it easy and let the specialist take a look, it'll be fine. See you in a few days!

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. So I have taken my car to my mechanic, who I have known for years. The good man confirmed the diagnosis. It was indeed the brake pedal position sensor. He ordered the replacement for the sensor and the part arrived within a day. It took about an hour and as far as I can tell he did a very thorough job. Since then the problem has gone and the car feels good again. Together with the cost of the part and the hour's work, the total came to about €160. So not too much more expensive than you estimated. Honestly, I'm just overjoyed that the problem is fixed and I don't have to worry about any further complications. Thanks again for your help and support. It's been great to read your experiences and know that I'm not alone. Give everyone a big hug and stay healthy! See you next time!

I have the same error and have changed the position sensor but the error is still there. I'm slowly running out of ideas. Does anyone know if there are any other sources of error? Thanks for your help in advance

Hi, So, my 2014 Audi A4 had a similar problem recently. It was actually the brake pedal position sensor that was causing problems. I remember the repair wasn't that fiddly and didn't require much work. However, if you're a bit handy, you could try changing the sensor yourself, it's actually quite simple. But remember, safety first. If you're not sure, it's better to have it done by a professional. Don't worry, it's really nothing serious. Either way, it should be pretty easy to fix. See you later!
