Problems with electric seats in Ford Ecosport 2016 - experiences and solutions wanted

Electric seats malfunction

Fault stored

Hi guys, my 2016 Ford Ecosport with gasoline engine has been experiencing some specific issues recently: Power seats are not working properly and it shows an error stored. I think it might be due to the power seat function restriction, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had similar experiences and can give me any troubleshooting tips? I'm particularly interested in how your garage fixed the problem. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Ford Escape (it's almost the same model, just a bit older). I would classify my car knowledge as average, so I'm not an expert, but not a novice either. When these problems occurred, I contacted my regular garage. They found that the seat module was faulty, which can indeed lead to the symptoms you describe. The repair cost me 435 euros, but afterwards everything ran as normal again and the problems disappeared. So it could well be that you have a similar fault. However, to be able to help you more accurately, it would be good if you could share a few more details about your car. What power does the engine have and have you set any special modes? I hope this information helps you a little. Good luck with fixing the problem!

Hi, thanks for the help. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem. It seems to me that you are right and the problem is caused by the seat module. My Ford is also a gasoline engine and has done 62411 km so far. There has been no special mode setting or anything. But it had its regular W inspection last week. Unfortunately, I am absolutely no expert in car mechanics and can't say how much horsepower my engine has. But I will take your advice and take the car to the garage and have the seat module checked. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Thanks again!

No problem, always happy to help! It does indeed appear that the seat module is the problem. It's good that you're going straight to the garage. You don't have to be an expert in car mechanics, that's what the professionals are there for. It would be good to know how much horsepower your engine has, but still, whether you have that information or not, it shouldn't affect the diagnosis and repair of your seat problem too much. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the repair won't be that expensive. And don't forget to ask about the exact malfunction of the seat module. It might be useful to know in the future if the problem reoccurs. All the best and hopefully your seat will be fine again soon!

Hi, your kind words have really helped me, I feel much better prepared now. I also hope that the repair will not be too expensive and I will follow your advice and ask about the exact malfunction of the seat module. This could indeed be useful if the problem occurs again in the future. Thanks again for the help and for keeping your fingers crossed!
