Problems with general electrical faults and warning light on Toyota Hiace 2019 - possible air conditioning fault message?
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Toyota Hiace owner is experiencing general electrical faults and a check engine warning light, suspecting a possible connection to a recent air conditioning compressor replacement. A similar issue with a Toyota Proace was resolved by addressing a defective cold shut-off valve, suggesting that the problem might be related to improper connections during the compressor replacement. The recommendation is to visit a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair, as the issue could be linked to the air conditioning system affecting the vehicle's electronics.

Hi, thanks for your helpful answer! My Hiace has a 2.7 liter petrol engine and the speedometer is currently at 56597 km. The warning light that comes on is the check engine light. During the last inspection, the air conditioning compressor was replaced because it was making noises. Maybe it's related to that? Or is it just a coincidence? The last time my car was in the workshop for an inspection was just under 6 months ago. At that time they said everything was fine. But something must be wrong... Can anything perhaps be deduced from this? Looking forward to your opinions!

Hey, thanks for the information! From your description, it could actually have something to do with the A/C system, especially since you say that the A/C compressor has already been replaced due to noise. It could be that something wasn't connected properly when it was replaced, which is now interfering with the electronics and causing the check engine light to come on. I would advise you to go to the workshop as soon as possible and have this checked. Don't try to do it yourself, especially if you're not an expert. The guys at the garage have more experience and the right tools to solve the problem. It was something similar with my Toyota Proace and they fixed it quickly. Hopefully your problem will be solved quickly too! Keep us posted on what you find out. Good luck!

Great, thank you very much for your advice! I will visit my garage as soon as possible and have the car checked. I also suspected something to do with the air conditioning. You're probably right, something could have gone wrong when replacing the air conditioning compressor. However, your experience with the Toyota Proace reassures me a little and I really hope that it's nothing serious with my Hiace either. It would be great if I could fix it as easily and cheaply as you did. I'll definitely keep you up to date. You're a lifesaver, thanks again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2017 Toyota Proace on. I don't have that much experience with cars, but I still had this problem. It turned out that the cold shut-off valve was defective. Unfortunately, I didn't know what to do at first either, so I went straight to the garage. The guys there recognized it immediately and helped me really well. I didn't have to pay anything because it was a known problem with this model. I hope that helps you a bit! But to be more specific, could you perhaps give us some more information about your vehicle? For example, the engine power, mileage or exactly which warning lights went out? That would perhaps help us to support you even better!
