Problems with irregular ride height and strong swaying in Audi Q7 Diesel from 2005: Possible defect in the air suspension bellows valve

Uneven Ride Height

Excessive Bouncing

Hello everyone, I've recently started having some strange problems with my 2005 Audi Q7 Diesel. It has an irregular ride height and unusually strong swaying. I have a suspicion that the air suspension bellows valve could be defective. Have any of you had the same experience and are familiar with troubleshooting? I am particularly interested in information on how the problem was solved by the workshop and what experiences you have had. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Audi Q5. No idea about cars, but I remember the experience well. The workshop visit was a bit tricky. They discovered that the air compressor was faulty. The replacement part and the repair together cost 890 euros. I hope that helps you. But it would be great if you could give me more details about your car. How many kilometers have you already driven? Does your car have any other abnormalities? I might be able to give you more information that way.

Hey, thanks for your answer! My Q7 already has 209670 km on the clock, and the last service was a few months ago. In addition to the ride height, the fuel consumption also fluctuates unusually strongly. Perhaps this is also related. I hope it will be less tricky for me in the workshop. 890 euros is quite a lot...

Hey, no problem! At this mileage, your suspicion about the bellows valve could actually be correct. With my Q5, I already had the problem with the air compressor at around 150,000 km. It's possible that the strong fluctuations in consumption could have something to do with your fuel system, but this may not be related to your ride height problem. It's definitely best to have this checked by professionals. However, before you spend a lot of money, I would recommend having the sensors for the suspension checked. It could just be a faulty sensor, and that would definitely be cheaper. Hope this helps!

Hey, your answer is very helpful again! I'll have all the sensors checked at the garage soon. I'll also keep the suspicion of possible problems with the fuel system in mind. Let's see what the experts say. Many thanks again! You have really helped me a lot.
