Problems with loud engine and exhaust noise on Citroen C2, model year 2003

Hey guys, I have a strange situation with my Citroen C2, gasoline engine, year 2003. Recently it makes a lot of noise when the engine is cold and the exhaust is also louder than usual. Somehow I have the suspicion that this could be due to the exhaust flap. Have any of you had similar experiences and could give me a few tips on what exactly could be causing this? Hey, my C2 is from 2003 and now has 4,1006 km on it. I've only recently had it serviced, so technically everything should be okay. Thanks for the info about the exhaust flap though, maybe that really is the problem. I'll probably have to take it to the garage after all...
