Problems with low battery and flickering lights in the 2018 Seat Leon diesel
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2018 diesel Seat Leon is experiencing issues with a low battery and flickering or dim lights. The problem might be linked to the emergency battery of the emergency call system. Suggested solutions include checking the main battery voltage, alternator output, and ensuring battery terminals are clean and tight. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consulting a professional for an electrical inspection is recommended.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply and the information! My Leon already has 139431 km on the clock. Apart from that, I haven't noticed any other symptoms. It was last serviced about 6 months ago. I'll probably have to visit the garage and see what they have to say. Thanks and best regards!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Given the number of kilometers, it could well be that the battery is giving up the ghost. It's annoying, but unfortunately not atypical. When I had the same problem back then, replacing the battery solved everything. Maybe it's similar for you. The garage is best placed to check this and tell you what's going on. At worst, like me, you'll probably have to dig into your pockets a bit. I hope I've been able to help you a bit. Let us know what comes out! All the best and have a safe journey!

Hi there, thanks for your advice! Yes, I also think it could be the battery. I'll contact the garage and hope it's nothing too serious. I will keep you posted and let you know what comes out in the end. I really appreciate your help, thanks again! Take care and take care of yourself!

The first thing I would do, is check the main battery voltage and alternator output. Another option is to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. You could also alternatively use a Scanner to check for error codes. If that does not work, I would consult a professional to do an electrical inspection so that you can replace the faulty components. Wishing you all the best!

Hi, I once had a similar problem with my 2020 Seat Ibiza. I'm not a car professional, but I've had my share of experiences with cars. I took it to the garage and they found that the emergency battery was already completely discharged. I then paid 110 euros for the repair and since then it has been running like clockwork again. To be able to help you better, it would be good if you could give a few more details about your car. How many kilometers have you driven? Have you experienced any other symptoms? Best regards!
