Problems with low battery and flickering lights on the Peugeot Rifter Diesel 2022 - solutions and experiences
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Peugeot Rifter Diesel owner is experiencing issues with a weak battery and flickering lights, suspecting severe battery discharge. A similar case with a Peugeot Traveller Diesel suggested that a defective control unit might be the cause, which was resolved in a workshop. The advice includes checking the battery's condition, especially if it's the original, and consulting a workshop to diagnose potential control unit issues. The owner plans to visit a garage for further investigation.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I have about 170541 km on the odometer, my last inspection was recently, and to my knowledge there were no abnormalities with the ECU. The battery is the one that was in it when I bought it. To be honest, I don't know much about it. Will check it out though and visit the garage if necessary! Thanks for the advice!

Hey, no problem, glad I could help! At 170k kilometers, it's quite possible that it's the battery or the control unit. In my Peugeot Traveller it was also in this area at the time. But the garage can check it out quite well. And don't worry that you don't know much about it, you can't know everything. At least you noticed the fault and asked for advice, that's worth a lot! If the battery is the original battery from the start, it could well be that it is simply no longer performing to its full potential after all these years. The symptoms certainly fit the bill. If it's the control unit, then you'll quickly find out at the workshop, as they specialize in such things. I hope this helps you and you get it under control soon. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. I'm not an expert, but I'm happy to share my own experiences. We all started out like this, didn't we? Good luck!

Hey, that's really helpful, experiences like that were exactly what I was looking for. You've already answered some of my questions and confirmed a few of my suspicions. It's really worth contacting people who have been through something similar! I'll follow your advice and go straight to the workshop. After all, I can't trust the battery in the long term. I'll get back to you when I have any news. And yes, we all start somewhere, don't we? Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot Traveller Diesel built in 2020. I'm not a professional, but I've been able to gain some experience. It may well be that your defective control unit is the culprit. In my case, it was exactly that thing and it cost me around 600 euros. I had it repaired directly by the workshop. The troubleshooting was straightforward. But to be able to help you more precisely, a little more information about your vehicle wouldn't be bad. Could you perhaps tell us more about the battery and the existing control unit?
