Problems with navigation and audio in Seat Exeo petrol 2010 - experiences and solutions wanted

Hello everyone! With my Seat Exeo, petrol engine, year of manufacture 2010, both the navigation system and the audio system have been acting up recently. I think it could be a signal error in the audio system. Do any of you have experience with this problem and how was it solved in the workshop? Any tips would be helpful!

(Translated from German)

Summary of the thread

A Seat Exeo owner from 2010 is experiencing issues with both the navigation and audio systems, suspecting a signal error in the audio system. A suggestion was made to check the cable connections, as a loose cable could cause similar sporadic issues. If the problem persists, consulting a professional is advised to avoid potentially costly repairs.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Seat Ibiza. By the way, my car knowledge is pretty rudimentary. My display was defective. The entire console had to be replaced in the workshop - it cost me 725 euros. I would need a bit more information to be able to help you more precisely. Are the problems permanent or only sporadic? Do you access the radio/navigation via the steering wheel buttons or touchscreen?

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, the problems don't always occur, but more and more frequently. I access the radio / navigation system via touchscreen. I hope that helps! By the way, my Exeo now has 148234 km and the last inspection was only recently. I hope I don't have to have the whole console replaced. It could be really expensive. Does anyone have any other suggestions or experience?

Hm, if your problems occur sporadically, it could actually be a signal error. That would of course be better than a defective screen, because the repair would ideally be cheaper. And sporadic faults usually have a hidden cause that is only discovered on closer inspection. My recommendation would be to check the cable connections first. In my Ibiza, a cable on the radio was once loose and the symptoms were very similar to yours. However, before you remove the console and start looking for the fault, ask a specialist. It was something else in my case, but you never know. Please let us know if you find out anything. Hope that helps!

Hey, thanks for the advice! I'll check the cable connections and see if that solves the problem. If that doesn't help, I'll probably have to call in a professional. I really hope it's not a major fault. I'll keep you up to date! Thanks again for your help.
