Problems with overheating and falling coolant level in the VW Tiguan 2018: Possible radiator shutter faults

Hello everyone, I have problems with my VW Tiguan, year of manufacture 2018, gasoline engine. The car is overheating and the coolant level is constantly dropping. I suspect that the radiator shutter is not doing its job properly. Have any of you had similar experiences? How did you get this fixed at the garage? I look forward to your tips and experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have had a similar problem with my 2016 VW Passat. I only have some experience with cars, but I took it to a garage to get it fixed. It turned out that the wiring harness to the sensor was faulty and corroded. The repair cost 155 euros. Can you tell me a bit more about your car? How many kilometers has it run and when did the problem start? Maybe then I can help you better. Hopefully you can solve your problem soon. Let us know how it goes!

Hello, thanks for your quick reply! My Tiguan now has 153765 km on the clock. Well, the problem actually started after my last service and it's getting worse. I will take your advice and have the condition of the wiring harness to the sensor checked. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news. Thanks again!

Hello again, I'm glad you wrote back quickly. With your mileage, it may well be that the parts are showing signs of wear. In my case, it was the wiring harness to the sensor. If the problem occurred after your last service, is it also possible that something was overlooked during the service? So I would definitely recommend that you have it checked at the garage. Good luck and keep us up to date! Hope you can solve the problem soon without it becoming too expensive. Greetings!
