Problems with Skoda Superb petrol engine 2019: black smoke, engine light, jerking and starting difficulties

Hello everyone, I'm having problems with my 2019 Skoda Superb petrol engine. When I accelerate, black smoke comes out of the exhaust, the engine light comes on, the cold start time is longer and the engine runs rough. The car also jerks when accelerating, sometimes won't start and dies at idle. It occurred to me that the injection valve might be defective. Have any of you had similar problems and had them fixed at a garage? Would love to hear more about your experiences and get some troubleshooting tips. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I have some experience with cars and had a similar problem with my Skoda Octavia 2017 model. The problem turned out to be a faulty plug/cable connection, not the injector. I had to visit my garage to fix the problem. The repair cost me 155 euros. That would probably be a good place to check on your car. Maybe you have the same problem. Can you maybe give me more information about your car? What engine and equipment do you have? That would certainly help to be able to classify more precisely what is going wrong with your car. No guarantee, however, as my experience with cars is rather limited.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. My car has a mileage of 55876 km, the last service was recently and there were no noticeable problems. It's strange because I've never had any problems like this before. The engine has simply become unexpectedly unstable. I'll take your idea about the plug/cable connections to my garage. I can probably get over the cost if the bike runs again afterwards. Thanks again!

No problem, that's what we're here for! It's really strange that your car is having such problems despite regular checks and relatively low mileage. Who knows, maybe it really is just a fault in the plug/cable connection. If I were you, I would definitely have it checked. Maybe also ask if there is a problem with the combustion as you have noticed black smoke. This could indicate incomplete combustion of the fuel, which can also cause the engine to run rough. Let us know if you find out anything! Good luck and I hope your Skoda is running as normal again soon.

Great, that's really nice of you! Yes, I will definitely arrange for my garage to check the plugs/cable connections as well as investigate possible incomplete combustion of the fuel. I'll get back to you when I know more. I also hope that my Skoda will soon be running again without any problems. Thanks again for your support!
