Problems with the air conditioning and heating in the Ford Ranger 2020 - looking for solutions and experiences
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Ford Ranger is experiencing issues with the air conditioning blowing warm air and problems with the cooling/heating system not starting properly. The suspected cause is a faulty heat exchanger temperature sensor. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a faulty cable/connector on the temperature sensor. It is suggested to check or replace the sensor to see if it resolves the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. So more detailed information about my car... The last service was 131257 km, if that helps. I hope it really is just the sensor that's broken, I'll have a look and keep you posted. Thanks again for the help!

No problem, always happy to help! If your car already has so many kilometers on the clock, other components of the air conditioning system could of course also be faulty. But first of all, if I were you, I would also suspect the temperature sensor. Have it checked or replaced and see if that solves the problem. In my case, it was actually just the sensor, then the air conditioning worked perfectly again. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just as easy for you. In any case, let us know if it works. See you then and good luck!

I've just come from my Ford dealer. This morning, there was no heating in my 2020 Ford Ranger gasoline-powered truck. I didn't take my truck out on Sunday and this morning, only cold air. I'm told at the garage that the bill will be close to $2,000, because they have to change a component behind the dashboard. I'm completely discouraged. My truck only has 34,000 km, but it's 4 years old, so there's no warranty on it. In your experience, am I being taken for a ride, or could it be something else less expensive?

Hello, Have you been told what exactly is faulty? I think the workshop means the heat exchanger behind the dashboard, but what exactly is supposed to be faulty according to the workshop?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Ford Mustang, gasoline engine. I have some experience with cars, am not a professional. At my garage, they found that the cable/connector on the temperature sensor was faulty. That cost me around 155 euros. It would be great if you could give me more information about your car (e.g. model, age, mileage etc.), I might be able to help you even better. Good luck, hopefully it's nothing worse for you.
