Problems with the air conditioning in the Citroen C8 Diesel from 2003 - suspected fault with the ambient temperature sensor
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A Citroen C8 Diesel from 2003 is experiencing air conditioning issues, blowing only warm air, suspected to be due to a faulty ambient temperature sensor. A similar issue in a Citroen C4 was resolved by fixing a defective cable or plug connection from the sensor. It is suggested to check the sensor and its wiring, located near the radiator, and consider visiting a garage if the problem persists.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. Can give you some info about my car, maybe it will help narrow down the problem better. My C8 diesel already has 157587 kilometers on it, similar to your case it's probably a sensor or something like that that's the culprit. I had my last service a few months ago. I hope this information helps and look forward to any further tips. Have a nice day!

Hello again! It seems that older cars like our C8 or my C4 are more likely to have problems like this. I think it's a good idea to check the sensor first, because that's what happened to me. Where is your ambient temperature sensor actually located? In my C4, the sensor was near the radiator. If you are a bit handy, you could also look for the sensor and its wiring yourself. Otherwise, I would advise you to take the car to the workshop. Maybe it really is just a minor electronics problem that can be fixed quickly and cheaply. Good luck and let us know what it was when you know more!

Hey, thanks for the other tips. The ambient temperature sensor from my C8 is also located near the radiator. I'm a bit of a handyman, so I'll have a look at this over the weekend. If I can't find a solution, I'll actually go to the garage. I'm also hoping it's just a minor electronics issue that can be fixed. I'll keep you posted when I know more. Really great that there are platforms like this where you can help each other. So long, take care and have a great day!

Hi, I recently had a similar problem with my 2001 Citroen C4 Diesel. I'm not exactly an expert on this sort of thing, but I do have a bit of experience. I took the car to my regular garage and the guys there had a look at it. It turned out that the cable or the plug connection from the sensor was defective. The whole thing cost me 95 euros. Maybe it's similar with your C8! Could you give more details about your vehicle? That could help with troubleshooting. Hope this info helps you.
