Problems with the air conditioning in the Renault Talisman Diesel 2018: possible causes and solutions

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Renault Talisman Diesel, year 2018. The air conditioning only blows warm air, the cooling/heating capacity is too low and the whole system doesn't start properly. I suspect it could be the air conditioning control valve. Have you had similar experiences or any tips for troubleshooting? I would be particularly interested in your solutions or workshop experience. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Renault Talisman Diesel, year 2016, an older version than yours, but with the same problem. My air conditioning was also leaking. I'm not an expert in this field, but I do have a bit of experience when it comes to car repairs. I therefore went to a garage to fix the problem. The mechanics there were able to find the leak and repair it. It cost me a hefty 495 euros, but that was necessary to fix the problem permanently. Could you perhaps give us more details about your vehicle so that we can help you better? Are there any other symptoms or special features that you can tell us about? Best regards

Hey, thanks for replying! My Talisman now has 13012 km on it, but has already been serviced once. Apart from the air conditioning problem, there are currently no other abnormalities. Would you recommend checking the leakage myself before I go to the garage? Or could it be something more serious? Best regards

Moin, with the mileage of your Talisman, there shouldn't really be any major problems with the air conditioning. Of course, there could still be a minor defect. To be honest, I would recommend going straight to the workshop. It's always difficult to check something like this yourself, especially if you're not an expert in the field. The mechanics in a workshop have the necessary knowledge and the right tools. The air conditioning system is quite complex and a leak is only one of many possible causes. It could also be an electrical problem or a problem with the coolant. In the worst case, even the compressor could be broken, which would lead to higher costs. Please let us know if you know more or if you have any further questions! Stay cool and see you in a few days.

Hi, thanks for the advice. I think you're right, it's better if I take the car to the garage and let the professionals do it. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything new. Until then - have a nice day!
