Problems with the air conditioning/heating in Ford Ecosport 2022: Search for solutions and exchange of experience

Hello everyone! I have a strange problem with my Ford Ecosport year 2022, gasoline engine. The air conditioning/heating system is not working as usual. It doesn't cool or heat sufficiently and the fan doesn't work properly either. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Could anyone have had this before and help me narrow down the problem? I suspect that a fault is stored in the air conditioning system. Would like to know how I can check or rectify this? I am particularly interested in how you have solved this problem in the workshop and what experiences you have had with it. Thank you for any tips and experiences!

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Ford Ecosport owner is experiencing issues with the air conditioning and heating system, which fails to cool or heat effectively, and the fan is not functioning properly. A possible cause suggested is a fault in the air conditioning control unit, similar to a problem experienced by another user with a different Ford model. It is recommended to have a full inspection of the air conditioning system by a mechanic to identify the exact issue, which could range from a defective control unit to a minor problem like a faulty thermostat.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2020 Ford Focus, but I'm still a novice driver, so I only have some experience with cars. In my case, the air conditioning control unit was defective. I then had to go to the mechanic. He then replaced it and it cost 880 euros. Could you please give us some more information about your vehicle? This would help us to share more details and help you better with your problem. Hope this helps you a little. Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My Ecosport has run 124859 km and I have always serviced it regularly. The climate control unit could of course also be the culprit in my case, a friend also suggested this to me. I'll definitely keep your experience in mind when I go to the mechanic. Many thanks for the tip and the information about the costs. Best regards!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Given your mileage with the Ecosport, it could really be the air conditioning control unit. Note, however, that you can never predict something like this exactly, other parts of the air conditioning system could also be faulty. When you go to the mechanic, it's best to ask for a full inspection of the air conditioning system. If you're lucky, it might just be a small thing like a thermostat that needs replacing, which would be a lot cheaper. I'm glad I could help you and I'll keep my fingers crossed that the repair won't be too expensive! Best regards back!

Hello, thank you very much for the useful advice. A full inspection of the A/C system at the mechanic sounds really sensible and I will definitely ask him about it. Hopefully it really is just the thermostat or something minor. I'll let you know when the repair is done and what ended up being the cause. Thanks again for your help and good wishes! See you next time, regards!
