Problems with the automatic tailgate and warning light on a Peugeot RCZ, 2013, diesel
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Peugeot RCZ owner is experiencing issues with the automatic tailgate not opening and a warning light appearing on the speedometer. The owner suspects a defective Hall sensor might be the cause. However, another individual with a similar issue on a different Peugeot model suggests that the problem might be due to a faulty control unit, which was the case in their experience. The owner plans to consult a garage to investigate the control unit and is prepared for the possibility of other underlying issues.

Hey, good tip, thanks! My RCZ has now run 109629 KM. The last inspection was a few months ago and everything was in great condition. No changes or repairs since then. But the problem with the tailgate is really annoying. I think I'll try your approach and ask the garage about the control unit. Thanks again!

Hello again! I'm glad my reply was helpful! This all sounds very normal for your car, don't worry, the car is still in good shape despite the miles. There are many reasons why the tailgate no longer opens automatically and the warning light comes on. However, it is quite possible that it is the control unit, as in my car. They should be able to determine this exactly at the workshop. But remember, it could be something else and there may be several parts that need replacing or repairing - be prepared for different costs. Hopefully you get the problem sorted soon, good luck! It would be cool if you could keep us posted to help others with similar problems. See you then!

Hey, your advice is really helpful, I feel more reassured now. I'll take your feedback into account when I visit the garage and prepare myself for the fact that there could be other problems too. I hope the repairs won't be too expensive. As soon as I have any news, I will keep you updated. Thanks again and see you later!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Peugeot 508, I have a bit of experience with cars but I'm not an expert. I went to my garage and it turned out that the control unit was faulty, not the Hall sensor. The repair cost me 1000 euros, but was necessary to use the car safely and correctly again. Could you please provide more information about your vehicle, e.g. mileage and whether you have made any recent modifications or repairs? This would help me to help you better.
