Problems with the brake light on the Renault Modus Diesel 2009 - experiences and solutions wanted

Brake light not working

Hi guys, I have a small problem with my 2009 Renault Modus Diesel. One symptom I have noticed is that the brake light is not working. I have a suspicion that it could be a "brake light signal implausible" problem, but I would like to hear your advice and experience to help me narrow down the source of the problem. Has this problem ever been rectified in your workshop and if so, how? I'm happy to hear any tips or experiences you can share. The devil is in the detail, right? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Renault Clio. I would describe my experience with car issues as some experience. My garage diagnosed a defective footwell module, which messed up the entire electrical system. The repair cost me 475 euros. This could also be the source of the fault in your Modus, as the symptoms appear identical. Can you please tell me how many kilometers your Modus has already driven and whether you have recently installed new electronics such as a radio or similar? With more information, I might be able to help you more specifically. There could also be other causes, but that would just be pure speculation on my part. I hope this helps you a little. I would definitely advise you to have it checked in a workshop before any further damage occurs.

Hello, thanks for your quick reply! So my Modus has already clocked up 134878 km. No, I haven't installed any new electronics such as a radio. Your suggestion sounds plausible. Yes, I'll take the car to the garage before anything else breaks. Your experience with the defective room module is a good guide. I'll see what the guys at the workshop have to say. Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the info. With so many kilometers, problems can occur here and there, but that's normal. If you haven't installed new electronics, you can rule that out as the cause. In my Clio, it was really the footwell module and the electrics that were spinning. I also think that it could be this footwell module that has a problem. It's good that you take the car to the garage. Then you'll be on the safe side and can prevent something bigger from breaking. They'll find out and fix it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope it's nothing serious. Please keep us posted on what they say at the workshop. I'll be happy to help again if you have any further questions!
