Problems with the central locking system and the key transmitter of the Ford Figo 2022 - experiences and solutions wanted

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my 2022 Ford Figo, gasoline engine. I've come across a really annoying central locking malfunction and a key transmitter problem. Think the central locking function might be limited, but not 100% sure. Have any of you experienced anything like this and can give some tips? How did you get this solved at the garage and what was your experience? I am grateful for any help!

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Ford Figo owner is experiencing issues with the central locking system and key transmitter, suspecting a limited function but unsure of the exact cause. A similar problem was shared by another person with a 2020 Ford Fiesta, where a faulty cable connection was identified as the cause, leading to unresponsive or erratic central locking behavior. The suggested solution is to inspect the cable connection, as it resolved the issue in the Fiesta, and the Figo owner plans to consult a garage for further diagnosis and repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2020 Ford Fiesta. I'm not a car mechanic, but I have a bit of experience as I do some minor repairs myself. At my garage they found that the cable connection was faulty. It cost 155 euros to get it fixed. It might be helpful if you give more details about your car, maybe then I can help you even better. Hope this helps you.

Hey, thanks for the insight. My Figo last had its inspection and general service done at a mileage of 132879 km, but as far as I remember, nothing unusual was found. Maybe I missed it. I'll have a look for that cable connection you mentioned. Could you perhaps explain in more detail what symptoms occurred before you had it fixed?

Sure, I can do that, no problem. With my Fiesta, I noticed that the central locking sometimes didn't react at all, no matter how often I pressed the key. Then again, it overreacted and locked the car by itself, even though I hadn't done anything. But that was probably the exception rather than the rule. The main problem was that it didn't react at all. With the key, the transmitter somehow gave up the ghost and I had to hold the key really close to the car for the central locking to react. I then changed the battery, but the problem was still there. That was the moment I decided to take the car to the garage. Lo and behold, it was the cable connection. Hope that helps you. Let's hear what you come up with, shall we? Good luck!

Hey, that definitely makes sense. The problem you had with your Fiesta sounds pretty similar to what I'm going through at the moment. I've also noticed that the central locking doesn't respond, despite pressing the key several times. The transmitter also seems to be acting up somehow. So it seems I'm experiencing the same thing as you did. Will ask the garage about the cable connection and report back how it turned out. Thanks again for the helpful info and your time!
