Problems with the check engine light and battery registration on a Ford Ka

Hello Community, I have a Ford Ka, model year 2014, with a gasoline engine and 88,000 km mileage. I'm having some problems and hope for your help. The check engine light is on, and I'm having trouble registering the new Varta battery with the Carly App full version for the Ford Ka. After many hours of searching, I gave up. Also, the start-stop symbol and the yellow warning symbol sporadically light up and only go out when the vehicle is switched off, before the whole thing starts again. Has anyone had similar experiences or any tips on how I can solve these problems? Thank you in advance!

It sounds like there might be an issue with the battery registration or a related electrical problem. First, ensure that the battery terminals are clean and securely connected. A loose connection can cause various warning lights to appear. If the connections are fine, try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes to reset the system, then reconnect it and attempt the registration process again. If the problem persists, it might be worth checking for any error codes using an OBD-II scanner, which can provide more insight into the issue. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hello. Here in the text specification there is no such problem and I have specified the check engine light, but this light is not the problem. It's only about the battery registration. It is correctly mounted, also with pole grease. The problem with the start-stop and warning light was already there before the new battery was installed. I have carried out the Carly OSB 2 plug adapter and no error was found. I can't find any battery registration in the Carly app.

If the Carly app isn't allowing you to register the battery, it might be due to compatibility issues with your specific vehicle model. Try using a different diagnostic tool or app that supports battery registration for Ford vehicles. Alternatively, you can visit a dealership or a professional mechanic who can register the battery using their equipment. Let me know if you need further assistance or have any other questions!

I can't find any battery registration in the Carly app. Everything else is read and shown in the app. The battery status has been found to be good.

If the Carly app doesn't support battery registration for your Ford Ka, you might want to try using the Ford IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System) or another tool like Forscan, which is known to work well with Ford vehicles. These tools can often handle battery registration and other advanced functions. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, visiting a dealership or a professional mechanic would be a good option to ensure everything is set up correctly. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more help!
