Problems with the electric seats in the Seat Altea 2010: experiences and solutions
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a problem with the electric seats in a 2010 Seat Altea, where the seats are not functioning properly, and an error message is stored. A possible cause suggested is a defective servomotor for seat adjustment, as experienced by another person with a similar issue in a different model. Other potential causes include the seat switch or wiring. The recommended solution is to have a garage inspect the actuator and possibly replace the faulty part.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, thanks for the advice! So, the mileage on my Altea is 145500 km and the last service was about 6 months ago. I assume the transmission type makes no difference to the problem, right? But it is manual, just in case. I think I'll take your experience into account and have the garage take a look at the actuator. That sounds like a possible cause. Hopefully they'll have the part in stock and I won't have to wait too long. Many thanks for your help!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Exactly, the mileage and the transmission shouldn't have any influence on the electric seats, I was just asking to get a better understanding of the overall picture. With your mileage of 145500 km, it is possible that the servomotor is slowly giving up the ghost. Especially if the seats are adjusted a lot. Back then I had to wait about a week for the spare part, I hope you have better luck. Incidentally, it could also be the seat switch or the wiring. All the best for the repair, hopefully it will solve your problem!

Thank you for the additional information and elaborating on the different possibilities. I have indeed often adjusted my seating position, so your assumption sounds quite plausible. I'll make my way to the workshop and sort it all out. With a bit of luck, everything will be sorted out quite quickly. Thanks again for your help and advice. You've really helped me a lot. See you then!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Seat Leon. I'm more of a mechanic with some experience, but I don't know a lot about it. Back then, it was the servomotor for the seat adjustment that was defective. I had it done at an independent garage near me. The replacement cost me just under 280 euros. Unfortunately, it took a while because the spare part was not immediately available. But everything worked perfectly again afterwards. To be able to help you better, could you provide some more information about your car, such as mileage, transmission type, etc.? I hope that helps you a little.
