Problems with the electric windows in a 2018 Ford Transit: experiences and solutions

Hey guys, my 2018 Ford Transit with gasoline engine is giving me a hard time, the power windows no longer work properly. I think it could be due to window regulator malfunctions, but I'm not sure. How have you solved such problems in the workshop and what were your experiences? I'm grateful for any tips!

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Ford Transit owner is experiencing issues with the power windows not functioning properly. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning window regulator, but the exact problem is unclear. A suggestion from another owner with a similar issue points to a faulty window regulator control unit, which was resolved by replacing it. The owner plans to have the control unit checked at a workshop to potentially solve the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I once had a similar problem with my 2016 Ford Transit Diesel. I'm not a car expert, but I do have a bit of experience. I just went to my garage and they quickly diagnosed the problem: window regulator control unit faulty. It cost me 355 euros to replace it, but everything worked perfectly again afterwards. Can you tell me how many kilometers your Transit has done and whether you had similar problems before? Maybe then I can help more. Hope that helps a little!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My Transit has just done 74826 km and actually there were no similar problems before. I didn't notice anything during the last inspection. I think I'll try your solution and ask the garage about the ECU. Thanks again for the tip!

No problem, I'm glad to hear that! At 74826 km, your mileage is still pretty low, so it could definitely be the ECU that's given up the ghost. On my car it happened exactly after 80000 km. So if I were you, I would definitely ask the garage to check the ECU. It might be necessary to replace it, but that should solve the problem in your case. Please let us know the result when you get back from the workshop. Good luck again!
