Problems with the hands-free system in the Renault Kangoo Diesel, model year 2014

Hi guys, I have a strange problem with my Renault Kangoo Diesel, model year 2014. Somehow I can no longer answer calls and I think that my hands-free microphone might be defective. Have any of you ever experienced something like this and how did you solve the problem? I would be really grateful for a few tips or experiences. Many thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Renault Kangoo Diesel owner is experiencing issues with the hands-free system, specifically being unable to answer calls, suspecting a defective microphone. A similar issue was resolved in a Renault Scenic by replacing the faulty microphone at a garage, costing around 255 euros. The suggested solution is to have the microphone checked and potentially replaced at a garage to restore functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Renault Scenic, I have some experience with cars so I thought it might be the microphone. I made an appointment at my garage and they said that the microphone was indeed faulty. The whole thing cost me 255 euros. Could you maybe give me the model and a more detailed description? Maybe then I can help you more. Greetings!

Hey, thanks for the info. So I drive the Kangoo in the standard version and as I said, since the last service at 61815 km the problem has been occurring. It's really annoying because I often make phone calls on the highway. Greetings!

Hey, no problem! It was the same with my Scenic. I also make a lot of phone calls while driving and it was just annoying to have a faulty microphone. After replacing the microphone in the workshop, everything is working perfectly again. For your Kangoo, I would simply recommend having the microphone checked at a garage. If it really is faulty, you may have to pay about the same amount as I did. I hope that helps you. Greetings!

Hey, thanks for the advice! I'll probably have to make a trip to the garage now and have my microphone checked. Talking on the phone while driving is really essential for me, so I hope it won't be too expensive. I'll get back to you and let you know what I find out. Thanks again and see you then! Greetings!
