Problems with the headlight leveling system on an Audi A3 Diesel, model year 2018

Dear community, I have recently had a problem with my Audi A3 Diesel, model year 2018. The headlights (both low beam and high beam) are somehow set too high or too low and a warning light comes on in the speedometer. I suspect a malfunction of the headlight range adjustment. Has anyone had similar problems? How did your garage fix it and what were your experiences? I would be grateful for any tips.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Audi A1, so I'm not a professional, but I would say I have some experience with cars. In my case, the height sensor was defective, which is exactly what caused the problem with the headlight leveling. My mechanic replaced the sensor for 190 euros and since then everything has been running smoothly again. To be able to help you better, it might help if you tell us a bit more about your problem. For example, are both headlights affected or just one? Have you seen any additional warning lights on your dashboard?

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. Both headlights are affected and there is also a warning light on the dashboard. And you, do you have any other suggestions? By the way, my last service was at 59254 km.

Hello again! Well, in my case, as I said, the height sensor was to blame. But it could also be that your headlights simply need to be readjusted, especially if both are affected. There are special devices in the workshop for this, which shouldn't be too expensive. If a warning light is also illuminated, then I would definitely visit a workshop soon. This often indicates a more serious problem. Of course, it may just be a minor issue, but better safe than sorry. Regarding your last service: This shouldn't really matter, as the headlights and headlight leveling are not directly linked to the service. But perhaps you could ask explicitly about this next time so that they pay special attention to it. Hope that helps you! Keep us posted on how things turn out for you.

Hey, thanks again for the tips! I will definitely visit my garage as soon as possible and describe the problem. I hope it's nothing too serious and can be fixed quickly. And of course, I will explicitly point this out to the people at the garage when I next have my car serviced. As soon as I have any news, I'll let you know. See you then.
