Problems with the parking aid and electrics in the Citroen C5 model year 2008: experiences and solutions

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Citroen C5 built in 2008. I have noticed that the parking aid no longer works and sometimes the entire electrical system goes crazy. There are also error messages and a warning light in the speedometer. Could this be a problem with the functional limitation of the parking aid? How have you had such problems solved in the workshop and what experiences have you had? I would appreciate any tips! Thanks in advance.

Summary of the thread

A Citroen C5 from 2008 is experiencing issues with the parking aid and erratic electrical behavior, accompanied by error messages and a warning light. A similar issue in a Citroen C4 was resolved by replacing a faulty parking aid control unit. It is suggested to have the vehicle diagnosed by a garage to determine if the control unit is the cause, especially given the car's mileage.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2006 Citroen C4. I have some experience with cars, but I'm not an expert. I had a good experience with my garage: the diagnosis was that the parking aid control unit was faulty. The repair cost 355 euros and the problem was solved. For a more precise assessment of your problem, it would be helpful if you could provide more information about your vehicle. For example, how many kilometers has it run and have any repairs been carried out recently? I hope this helps you a little. All the best!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My C5 already has 150726 kilometers on the clock and the last service was about a month ago. Nothing special was done then, just the usual oil change and a few minor things. Your answer will help me and I will pay a visit to my garage and hope that it is just the control unit. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! With the mileage of your car, the control unit could well be the trigger, especially if the parking aid is on strike. Ask your garage if they can keep an eye on it or make a diagnosis. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing more serious and that the damage is limited. Just let us know what it was in the end! All the best and good luck!

That's exactly what I'm going to do! I really appreciate your help and support. I also hope it's not a more serious problem. I'll definitely let you know what comes out after my workshop visit. Thanks again for the brilliant advice and fingers crossed. See you then!
