Summary of the thread
A 2015 Opel Astra owner is experiencing issues with the seat heating not functioning. Possible causes include a faulty control unit, cable issues, or a blown fuse. Hi, thanks for your reply. My Astra has done quite a bit of driving, now has 166018 km on it and the last service was about 6 months ago. I really have no idea whether it could be the control unit, as we checked it during the last service. Maybe it's just a small thing that I can't think of right now. Could also be the cable. Tell me, have you had any other problems with the seat heating since the repair?

Hello, since the repair, the fault has not recurred. I was really pleased that the seat heating worked perfectly again afterwards. You could be right about the cable, it could also be a fuse. Have you ever checked the fuses? Old cars sometimes have their quirks, don't they? In terms of mileage, your Astra is of course doing well, but an Opel can take a beating, I can tell you that! I hope you find a solution that doesn't cost too much. In my case, it was the control unit... Sometimes you just have bad luck.

Hello, thank you for your reply and your support. Yes, I've already checked the fuses, but unfortunately that didn't help. I'll give the cable a try and if that doesn't help either, it'll have to go to the workshop for better or worse. I hope it's not too bad and I have better luck than you with your Insignia. It's really annoying that it can sometimes cost so much money. But you're right, an Opel can take a beating! Thanks again, I'll let you know when there's any news!

Hi, when you check the cables - why don't you move the seat heating plug a little - it's best to hold it in different positions and then check whether the seat heating works. Sometimes it is just a contact problem in the plug... MfG

Hi, I had similar problems with my 2013 Opel Insignia. I have some experience with cars, but I'm not a professional. Took my car to the garage at the time, where they found that the ECU was faulty. It was an expensive repair, costing me 1000 euros. Unfortunately, there was no other way. But before I go any further, could you please give me more details about your car? Motorization, model, etc.? That would help me to understand your problem better.
