Problems with the seat heating in the Toyota Avalon 2012 - experiences and solutions

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2012 Toyota Avalon, gasoline engine. The heated seats just don't want to work anymore, have any of you ever had a similar problem? Could it be due to a faulty seat heater? How have you had this solved in the workshop and what experiences have you had? Any information helps! Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2010 Toyota Camry. I'm not a car expert, just have a bit of experience. But at the garage they discovered that the control unit was faulty. In the end, the whole thing cost me around 1000 euros. Do you have the exact symptoms and fault codes for your car? That might help.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I don't have any exact fault codes yet, all I can say is that the seat heating is failing completely. Last service was at 208454KM, maybe I should pop in again. Hope it's not as expensive as yours, 1000 euros sounds pretty hefty. I'll let you know what comes of it.

Hey, yes, that does sound very much like a defect in the seat heating. I would recommend that you have it checked. In my Camry, the fault was in the control unit. Seat heating is one of those things that is often underestimated. But once it's broken, you realize how pleasant it actually is. Of course, 1000 euros is quite a lot, but remember that this is also an investment in the comfort of your car. I haven't regretted it with mine. Keep us posted on what the garage says! It might help others in the same situation. Have a good trip, see you soon!

Hey, thanks for the encouraging words. I guess you're right, comfort has its price. I'll definitely have the seat heating checked. Hopefully it's just a minor problem. You're right, it's really uncomfortable without it now that it's getting colder. I will definitely keep you posted, maybe it will really help someone. Until then, safe travels and all the best.
