Problems with the suspension and warning light on Renault Espace 2010

Hello everyone, my Renault Espace (built in 2010, diesel) has recently developed a strange problem. The car bounces extremely over bumps, the entire driving behavior feels erratic and unusual. There is also a warning light in the speedometer. I suspect that it could be a fault in the suspension damper adjustment. Do any of you have experience of this or had a similar problem and got it solved? Would appreciate any tips on troubleshooting and repair! Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A Renault Espace 2010 is experiencing erratic driving behavior and excessive bouncing over bumps, accompanied by a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected issue is a fault in the suspension damper adjustment. A similar problem in another Renault model was resolved by replacing a faulty ECU, suggesting that reading the car's fault memory could identify the issue. It is advised to diagnose the problem early to prevent further complications and potential high repair costs.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Renault Scenic (built 2008, diesel). I would personally describe myself as someone with low car mechanic experience. At my garage they checked the ECU and found that it was faulty. The control unit had to be replaced, which cost me a total of 1000 euros. It's important to know that this fault was coded before I went for repairs. Have you ever read out your car's fault memory or had it read out? It could be that the same message is displayed for you. Hope this helps you!

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I don't think it's the control unit, as everything was fine at the last inspection about 120k km ago, but of course it may have changed since then. I'll have the fault memory read out and see if there's anything in there. It sounds like it could be quite expensive... Let's hope for the best. Thanks again!

Hey! Yes, you're right, it can always be an unexpected cost issue when it comes to cars. But it's better to sort things out early before they cause major problems. Definitely have the fault memory read out. If it really is the control unit, as it was in my case, be prepared to pay a certain amount. Or it could be something else. I hope it won't be that expensive for you. Let us know what comes out of it! Good luck.

Hi, thanks for your support and advice! Yes, I need to get to the bottom of this, you're right. I really hope that the repair won't hit me too hard in the pocket money. But I'll have it checked anyway, because safety first. I'll keep you posted as soon as I know more. Thank you very much and see you next time!
