Problems with the ventilation and warning light in the 2018 Opel Cascada - suspected faulty outside temperature sensor
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The 2018 Opel Cascada is experiencing issues with its ventilation system and a warning light on the speedometer. The owner suspects a faulty outside temperature sensor. A similar issue was experienced by another car owner, who found the problem to be a faulty cable or connector from the sensor. The recommended solution is to have the car checked at a garage to identify and rectify the fault.

Thank you for your reply. My Cascada is a 2018 model with 122707 km on the clock. I'd have to look up the exact model name, but I can say that I bought the car new and haven't had any similar issues so far. Did the 155.0 euros only cover the cost of the parts, or was that including labor?

Hello again! The 155.0 euros includes the parts and labor. However, the cost depends a lot on the garage and the exact problem, so I can't tell you for sure if it would cost the same for your Cascada. As you say your Cascada is a new car and hasn't had any similar problems before, it seems unlikely that it's the same fault as my Insignia. Nevertheless, a broken outside temperature sensor can cause such symptoms, so it's best to have it checked at the garage. I think the most important thing now is to get it sorted out as quickly as possible before the minor fault becomes a major problem. I wish you the best of luck and hope that it is resolved quickly and cheaply!

Hello again! Great, thanks for the info. I'll take it to the workshop to have it checked. Hopefully it really is just the outside temperature sensor and nothing more serious. Your information has definitely helped me a lot. I'll report back soon on how it went. Fingers crossed that it won't be too expensive. See you soon and thanks again!

Hello, the airbag light on my Opel Cascada comes on from time to time. It has a 1.4l gasoline engine with 120 hp. Can anyone give me a tip? Many thanks, greetings Jörg

Hi Jörg, an intermittent airbag light could indicate a loose connection or a faulty sensor. However, the airbag system is a critical safety feature, so I strongly recommend you to have it checked by a professional mechanic as soon as possible. Please keep us updated on the progress. Do you have any other questions or concerns?

Hi. I have a bit of experience with cars and came across a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Insignia. In my case it was also the outside temperature sensor. Cable or connector from the sensor was faulty. I went to the garage and the mechanic was able to identify and rectify the fault quite quickly. But it cost 155.0 euros. Can you please give me more information about your Cascada? Especially the exact model name and current kilometers would be helpful to share more details and help further. Do you happen to know if previous owners have had similar problems?
