Problems with the windshield heating in an Opel Adam 2012 - experience and solutions wanted

Heated windows without function

Fault stored

Hi guys, my Opel Adam from 2012 with a gasoline engine is doing something strange. The windshield heating is not working and something is stored in the fault memory. I suspect a problem with the windshield heating ("functional restriction of the windshield heating"). Have any of you experienced something like this and could give me a little advice? How did you get this solved in the workshop? I would be delighted to hear your experiences and tips, thank you!

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my 2010 Opel Corsa. I would classify my car knowledge as rather low, but I try to help where I can. My problem at the time was also the faulty windshield heating element. My garage fixed that for me at the time. What they did was replace the heating element, which was no longer working properly. The cost of this was 585.0 euros. It was a bit expensive, but since then it has worked perfectly and I have had no more problems with it. Nevertheless, in order to help you better, could you please give me more vehicle information, such as the exact model name or specific features? Because the repairs can differ depending on the model.

Thanks for your answer, buddy. My Opel Adam has done 74734 km so far, the last service was not too long ago. There are no special features that I could mention. 585.0 euros sounds hefty, but if it fixes it, that would be okay with me. I'll pay the garage a visit and pass on your advice. Thanks for your help!

Hey, no problem, glad to hear I was able to help you. With the mileage and recent service, I would definitely suggest visiting the garage. I'm sure the guys there will be able to help you out. A faulty heating element is annoying, but nothing that can't be fixed. Please report back on how it went and whether my experience with my Corsa helped you. We Opel drivers have to stick together, don't we? Good luck!
