Problems with TOM TOM navigation system on Mitsubishi ASX

Good morning everyone, I am experiencing a problem with my original TOM TOM navigator on my Mitsubishi ASX. Although all other functions, such as radio and phone, work perfectly, the navigator no longer reads the map. I noticed that if I use an iPhone with the APPLE CARPLAY application, the map is displayed correctly, which makes me think that the screen is not broken. I also tried downloading a new map, but to no avail. Has anyone had the same problem or know how I can solve it? And who can I turn to, considering that the dealerships are closed? I live in the province of Modena. Thanks in advance for any help.

Summary of the thread

The original TOM TOM navigator on a Mitsubishi ASX is not reading maps, although other functions like radio and phone work fine. The issue is not with the screen, as maps display correctly using APPLE CARPLAY. Possible causes include software glitches, outdated firmware, or antenna connection issues. Suggested solutions include performing a soft reset, checking for firmware updates, inspecting GPS signal strength, and examining antenna connections for corrosion. If the map has expired, purchasing a new map or SIM card from TOM TOM may be necessary.

Try performing a soft reset on your TOM TOM navigator by holding down the power button until the device restarts. This can sometimes resolve software glitches. If the issue persists, check if there are any firmware updates available for your device, as outdated software can cause map reading issues. Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions!

I tried, nothing changed. In some posts I read that the problem may be some wires placed in the antenna that oxidized with water, is this a viable way ? and if yes, before disassembling everything how can I check if this is the problem ? thanks to all.

Check the GPS signal strength on your TOM TOM device. If the signal is weak or absent, it could indicate an issue with the antenna or its connections. You can usually find this information in the settings or diagnostics menu of the navigator. If the signal is indeed weak, inspect the antenna connections for any visible corrosion or damage. If you're unsure, it's best to have a professional check it, as this could affect navigation accuracy. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions!

It's possible that the map has expired or is no longer supported. Check the TOM TOM website or contact their customer support for information on purchasing a new map or SIM card compatible with your integrated system. They can provide guidance on available options for your specific model. Let me know if you need further assistance!
