Voltage drop, interesting. I hadn't considered that specifically. Where exactly did you experience the voltage drop on your Astra? And did you check the fuse box for any potential circuit breaks?

I didn't have the tools to check myself, to be honest. In the end I brought my Astra to the workshop and they identified the faulty component and replaced it. Probably best to get yours checked out by a professional, too.

Thanks for the input. Ended up taking it to a shop; indeed it was a defective cable connection. Repair cost 95€. Appreciate the advice!

Whoa, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, different error code but same symptoms: car wouldn't start. Have you checked for any voltage drop? Maybe the starter solenoid is faulty, or perhaps the ignition switch itself is acting up?
