Punto power window failure
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2012 Fiat Punto diesel, the power windows stopped working, and an error was stored in the error memory. This issue is suspected to be related to the window regulator needing re-initialization due to the power interruption. A suggested solution is to perform a reset procedure, but if that fails, visiting a workshop with the necessary diagnostic tools to re-initialize the window regulator is recommended.

Reset procedures? No, I haven't. I didn't even know that was a thing. What kind of reset are we talking about?

Yeah, it's a pain. I tried all sorts of button combinations and even disconnecting the battery again, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They had some diagnostic tool to re-initialize the window regulator. Saved me a massive headache, honestly. Cost me 290€, though. Still stings a little.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm heading to a workshop then. I hoped it would be something simple, but I don't have the tools to do a proper diagnostic. I will try not to think of the cost.

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my Punto. The window regulator sometimes needs a reset after power is interrupted, like after a battery change. It's like your computer forgetting its BIOS settings after a power outage. Did you try any reset procedures?
