Thanks for asking. After getting the steering angle sensor issue fixed, I havent experienced any more traction control or electronic stability problems. The total repair came to 195 Euro for the sensor coding correction, which was much less than expected since no parts needed replacement. The steering returned to normal right after the fix, no more heavy steering or strange vibrations during turns. The stability control system works perfectly now. Originally worried the electronic control unit would need replacement too, but the sensor coding was the complete solution. Just make sure your shop has the right diagnostic equipment to properly identify alignment problems and sensor issues. Sometimes what appears as multiple problems can be resolved by addressing the faulty steering angle sensor alone. Its been about 8 months since the repair with no recurring issues. The car handles like new again.

Taking my Q3 to the mechanic today was a much better experience than my previous visit. After reading about the steering angle sensor issues here, I knew what to discuss with them. They confirmed it was exactly that, a faulty sensor causing the heavy steering and vibration problems. The repair took about 3 hours. They performed: Complete diagnostic scan, Sensor replacement and coding, Wheel alignment check, System recalibration Total cost came to 580 Euro, including parts and labor. More than I hoped but less than I feared. The steering feels completely normal now, no more shaking or resistance during turns. The traction control warning light is gone too. Really glad I got a second opinion and knew what to ask about. The car drives like new again. Will definitely keep an eye on the steering sensor readings during future services to catch any issues early.
