Qashqai diesel throttle valve issue

I'm facing an issue with my 2011 Nissan Qashqai diesel. The engine shows signs of a defective throttle valve, with increased fuel consumption and starting difficulties. With 162833 km, could a defective accelerator pedal module cause erratic air intake and engine idle?

Hey! I had something similar with my Qashqai: higher fuel consumption and sluggish starts. Check the air intake and car throttle, but it sounds like the engine throttle valve could be the issue. Did you notice any difference when the engine is cold?

It's proving to be bothersome. I haven't explicitly noted any discrepancies based on the engine's temperature. Could you elaborate further on your experiences? Did you have the same symptoms?

Okay, so mine was rough whether warm or cold, but it eventually got to the point where it was nearly impossible to start, and the fuel consumption was insane. It was the throttle valve. I'd suggest a workshop visit to confirm, as you may damage other components, such as the catalytic converter. Don't risk it.

I appreciate your advice. I took it to the workshop, and after the OBD2 diagnosis, the throttle valve was indeed defective, probably due to a defective accelerator pedal module. A replacement was necessary, costing 205€. Everything runs smoothly now!
