Summary of the thread
A 2023 Nissan Qashqai hybrid was experiencing excessive fuel consumption, rough running, loss of power, and jerking, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause was a rich fuel mixture. Thanks for the quick reply! I've checked the air filter – looks okay. No visible leaks around the intake manifold that I can see. What exactly was the problem with yours? And how did you figure it out?

In my case, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. It was dumping too much fuel into the cylinder, causing the rich condition. Think of it like a leaky tap - constantly dripping when it should be a controlled spray. That's probably beyond a DIY fix, as it could impact the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor readings. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop, might save you some headaches.

Thanks so much for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – defective injector! Cost me 515€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now. Really appreciate the help!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Qashqai. Reduced engine power, rough running, and the check engine light were all happening to me. Have you checked for any obvious signs like a bad air filter or any leaks around the intake manifold? It could be messing with your air-fuel ratio.
