Qashqai Height Control Restricted Warning

I have a 2007 Nissan Qashqai with a gasoline engine and 166802 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed a 'height control restricted' warning light on the dash. The low beams seem off, and the vehicle sits unevenly, with the front noticeably lower than the rear. The ride is also bumpier than usual. I scanned for error codes, and there's something stored related to the height adjustment. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

That sounds very familiar! I had almost the exact same problem with my Qashqai. Same symptoms – the warning light, uneven height, and the uncomfortable ride. It definitely points to an issue with the height adjustment system. Have you checked the leveling sensors?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the leveling sensors yet. Where are they located, and is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

They are usually attached to the suspension arms. Given your symptoms, it's very likely that the control rod on the sensor is defective. However, without proper tools you may be unable to diagnose it further. I recommend taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. When I had the issue, the defective control rod was the problem, and they sorted it out quickly.

Appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a workshop as you suggested. The repair ended up costing 110€, and a defective control rod on the sensor was indeed the issue.
