Qashqai Outside Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2009 Nissan Qashqai diesel has a malfunctioning outside temperature sensor. There's an error stored, the AC won't activate, spray nozzles freeze, and mirror heating is dead. I suspect a bad cable or plug. Any advice on troubleshooting?

That sounds tricky. I had a similar issue on an older vehicle, not a Qashqai. Have you checked the sensor itself for physical damage or corrosion? Even a small crack can cause issues. Where's the sensor located on your model? That might help trace the cable for breaks.

Thanks. I visually inspected the sensor and didn't see damage. Can you elaborate on how you traced the cable? Any specific tools or techniques you found useful?

Visual inspection was key for me, but a multimeter was crucial for checking continuity. Since you've ruled out visible damage, it's likely a break along the line. Considering the AC and mirror heating, a workshop visit might be worthwhile for proper electrical diagnosis. Does that help, or should I be more specific?

I appreciate the assistance. The information was valuable. After a final inspection, I took the car to my local mechanic. They found a faulty connection to the outside temperature sensor and repaired it for 95€. Everything is working now.
