Qashqai Poor Engine Running Cold Start
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Qashqai gasoline vehicle is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, suspected to be due to a faulty cold start injector. The issue may be related to a defective injection valve, as similar symptoms were resolved in another vehicle by identifying and replacing a faulty injector. A professional injector test is recommended to diagnose the problem accurately. After conducting such a test, a defective injection valve was confirmed and replaced, resolving the cold start issue.

I have not checked the fuel rail pressure specifically. Could you elaborate on how you approached diagnosing the issue with your Opel Astra and whether you found a defective injector?

Certainly. After experiencing similar cold start problems and doing some basic checks, I took my Opel to a workshop to check the injectors. They confirmed one of the injectors was defective, causing misfires especially when cold. I recommend professional injector test to pinpoint the issue.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to a trusted mechanic for an injector test. It was confirmed that one of the injection valves was defective. The total repair cost, including parts and labor, came to approximately 515€. The car now runs smoothly even on cold starts!

Interesting issue. I had similar symptoms of rough idle and engine misfire on cold starts with my old Opel Astra, although that was a diesel. Have you checked the fuel rail pressure or considered if a particular injection valve may be the culprit?
