Thank you for your response! The traction control light was indeed illuminated. Could you elaborate on the specific issue you encountered and any diagnostic steps you took to identify the problem? Did you experience any other symptoms besides the slipping gearbox and limp mode? Any further details would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, traction control light was a big clue for me. Honestly, I didn't dig too deep myself. Limp mode and dodgy shifting is never good, and with the light on it felt like something serious. Took it straight to the workshop and they sorted it out. Best bet is to get it hooked up to a diagnostic machine and see what codes pop up. Could save you a lot of headaches.

Understood. Thank you for sharing your experience and recommending a visit to the workshop. I followed your advice and took the vehicle to a certified Nissan mechanic. After performing diagnostics, it turned out there was a software issue related to the ABS which caused my transfer case to go into limp mode. They reinstalled the software and that fixed it! The eventual repair cost was 0€ because this was covered by a service campaign from Nissan, so I did not pay anything.

Hey there! I had something similar happen in my Qashqai. Not sure about the ABS link, but the slipping gearbox and limp mode sounds familiar. Was the traction control light on too? That's what happened to me. Could be a torque converter issue or something messing with the powertrain signals. Worth checking those things.
