Qashqai Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Nissan Qashqai diesel exhibited an engine warning light, with diagnostics indicating a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. The vehicle experienced emergency mode activation, shifting slips, and occasional grinding noises. Initially, low gearbox oil was suspected, but after addressing the oil level without resolving the issue, replacing the faulty sensor was necessary to fix the problem.

Thanks. When you had similar symptoms, was the error code specifically for the transmission oil pressure sensor? I want to be sure we're talking about the same thing.

Yes, my error code was also for the transmission oil pressure sensor. Checking the oil level might fix it, but the sensor itself could be bad. If adding oil doesn't work, you might need a workshop to diagnose the sensor.

Thanks for the confirmation. The oil level was low. Fixing that didn't clear the error, so I replaced the sensor for 365€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I had similar symptoms with my Qashqai. If the error memory also shows the pressure sensor, check the gearbox oil level first. It's the simplest thing, and I've heard of it fixing the problem. Has the oil ever been changed?
