Hey, I've got a 2002 Nissan Quest with a gasoline engine that's giving me headaches. The check engine light is on, it's overheating, and I found coolant under the van after driving it the other day, like it's under a lot of pressure. I'm getting a control unit communication error. Any ideas?

I had similar symptoms on my Quest. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the unit? A defective connection can cause all sorts of weirdness with the CAN bus.

I haven't checked that specifically. Where exactly should I be looking for those connections? Is it easy to get to?

The location varies slightly, but focus on any connectors near the control unit itself, and any along the main wiring harness. Given the nature of the fault, if you are seeing coolant spill under the vehicle due to excessive pressure in the cooling system in combination with these issues, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for diagnostics.
