Quest Stuck in Transport Mode

My 2009 Nissan Quest with a gasoline engine seems to be stuck in transport mode. The navigation system isn't working, and there seems to be a general electrical malfunction. The car has only 20676 km. Could this be because the vehicle is new? I've checked the key fob battery, but the problem persists. Any ideas before I schedule a diagnostic check?

Oh, transport mode... what a pain! I had something similar happen with my Quest (though I can't remember the exact year model right now). Transport mode is basically a setting used during shipping to reduce battery drain. It limits a bunch of functions. Sounds like somehow yours never got deactivated. Did you try a hard reset? Disconnecting the battery for like 15 minutes sometimes works to clear glitches in the car electronics. It's worth a shot before anything else.

Thanks for the suggestion. By hard reset, do you mean physically disconnecting the car battery? If so, where is it located and do I need any special tools?

Yep, that's what I mean by a hard reset. Disconnect the negative terminal of the car battery. In the Quest, it's usually under the hood, drivers side against the fender near the air intake. You just need a wrench to loosen the nut on the negative terminal. But honestly, with transport mode screwing up the navigation and causing electrical gremlins, it's probably best to let a workshop handle it. They can properly deactivate the transport mode using diagnostic tools and check for any other underlying issues that might be causing the problem.

Understood. I appreciate the info and the warning. I will take it to a workshop to get the transport mode deactivated. Thanks for your help.
