Ractis AC failure

My 2005 Toyota Ractis (gasoline engine) AC just stopped working! It's blowing hot air and doesn't even seem to be trying. No cold air at all now and the AC system doesn't switch on. I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses, but I'm no expert. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue on my Ractis. Check the AC compressor and also listen for any strange AC noise when you turn on the AC. Could be the pressure switch, but it's tricky. Could also have something to do with the valve.

Thanks! By 'valve', do you mean a specific valve, or is it likely the whole compressor unit? What ended up being the problem on yours?

On mine, it turned out to be individual valves in the AC system itself. Unfortunately, they couldn't be individually replaced, and it needed a full system repair and refrigerant refill. Best get it to a workshop for proper AC diagnostics.

Thanks so much for the info! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right – the valves were the issue. Cost me around 1000€ to sort out. Appreciate the heads-up!
