Ractis alarm error

Hey, I've got a 2011 Toyota Ractis with a gasoline engine and I'm having some trouble with the alarm system. It's showing an error stored in the error memory, and the alarm isn't working at all. My mileage is at 71117 km. I'm thinking it might be a cable or plug issue. Anyone else seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Toyota Ractis owner experienced an issue with the alarm system, which was not functioning and showed an error in the memory. The initial suspicion was a potential cable or plug issue. After a brief inspection without clear findings, it was advised to have the vehicle checked at an authorized workshop. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty connection, which was resolved professionally.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Good day, esteemed Ractis owner. I appreciate you reaching out to the forum to express your alarm system communication fault. It is concerning to learn that your alarm system is showing an error in the memory and is currently non-functional. To best assist you, have you attempted any preliminary inspections of the cable and plug connections? Are there any apparent signs of corrosion, damage, or loose connections? This information may help identify if your alarm system issues are a unique problem, or a more common occurrence across the Toyota Ractis models.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did have a quick look, but honestly, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I wiggled a few wires, but didn't see anything obvious. Any tips on where to focus my attention, or what specific things to look for?

Considering your description of the undertaken inspections, and in the absence of any further findings, I would recommend the vehicle be inspected and resolved at an authorized workshop. Based on the error described, it's most likely a defective signal, but I would still recommend going to the workshop.

Cheers for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a dodgy connection, just like we suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!
