Ractis Audio System Failure

My 2007 Toyota Ractis with a gasoline engine has a non-functional audio system. Diagnostic scan shows an error. I suspect a defective display. A local service center quoted 725€ for the repair. Any insights or suggestions?

Hey there. I had a similar problem with my old 2012 Opel Astra. The whole sound system just died on me one day. No sound, nothing on the display. Did you check the fuses already? That was the first thing I did, but in my case, it wasn't the fuse.

Thanks for the swift response. I haven't checked the fuses. Could you elaborate on the specific fuses I should inspect and their locations? Were there any other potential causes you explored during your troubleshooting?

Well, in my Astra, the fuse box was under the hood and another one inside the glove compartment. I'd check your owner's manual to see where they are in the Ractis. Honestly, after the fuses, I just gave up and took it to a shop. They told me the head unit was fried. I think you're right that it needs to be checked by someone who knows what they're doing. Could be the display, could be something else.

Thanks for your assistance and shared experiences. Based on your recommendation, I will schedule an appointment at a reputable workshop for a thorough diagnostic evaluation of the audio system. It turned out to be a defective display. I approved the repair and paid 725€.
