Ractis cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota Ractis has developed a fault where the cruise control has stopped working, with an error stored in the OBD reader. Initial checks of the fuse box and pedal switch connections showed no issues. Possible causes include a defective cable or plug connection, a faulty clock spring, or a speed sensor problem. The suggested solution is to take the car to a garage for professional diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's interesting... No, I haven't noticed any other electrical gremlins, thankfully. Just the cruise control being a pain. What was the solution in your case? Was it a big job to fix?

In my case, it turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection of the component. To be honest, I took it straight to a workshop. I'm no mechanic, and I didn't want to mess around with the electrics. They sorted it out pretty quickly.

Okay, that's good to know. A defective cable or plug connection sounds like a reasonable explanation and that is also the likely cause according to some forums. I think I'll bite the bullet and take it to my local garage too. They quoted me around 95€, which seems fair enough. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I had a similar issue with my Ractis a while back. The cruise control just packed it in. I'd be interested to know if you've noticed any other electrical issues cropping up at the same time?
