Ractis electronic parking brake failure
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Toyota Ractis experienced an electronic parking brake failure, indicated by a constant warning light and a stored error. The issue was traced to a defective electric motor in the brake calliper, a known weak point. The suggested solution was to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, which confirmed the problem and led to a repair costing 505€.

Thank you for your swift response. The warning light is constant. Could you please provide more detail regarding the brake sensor connections to check?

Okay, constant light isn't great news, but still might be something simple. Honestly, based on what you're describing, especially with the stored error, it really does sound like the electric motor in the brake calliper is failing. Those motors are known to be a weak point. If you want to check connections, they're usually on the calliper itself, but honestly, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. Could be a costly repair, I reckon around 500€.

I appreciate your input. I took the Ractis to a local garage and they confirmed your suspicion: the electric motor in the brake calliper was indeed defective. The repair cost me 505€ Thank you for the assistance.

Oh man, that sounds rough! Is the warning light constant, or does it flicker? Have you tried checking the brake sensor connections? Sometimes a loose wire can cause all sorts of electronic mayhem. It's definitely worth a quick look before you start tearing things apart.
